NEWS LETTER 8 (AUGUST 2004)

On Sunday 18 th July 2004 , we had our WNDCA 1 st anniversary, held at the Pearl River Chinese Restaurant, Kings Lynn, (Special thank you to Philip, Lena and their staffs). Very successful event with lots of foods and about 150 people attended. We had guest speaker (Mr.Graham Aderson-Fortnam) from the Work and Pension Department (thank you Rose Ng for being the interpreter).

Come Along, every Sunday 12pm to 2.30pm , we are playing football at Riverlane pitch, Near Lynnsport, off Beulah Street . Anyone interested are welcome. Later on we will be forming a team to challenge other people.

Everyone's are welcome, please do come as we are short of participants.

We are unable to organise any trip this summer, due to lack of response from majority of members.

A committee meeting was held at South Wootton Takeway, on Sunday 8 th August ( 11.30pm – 2.00am ). Attended by: Kwai Li, Denny Chan, Clemens Lai, Barry Chong, W M Yau, Hui Sang, Bobby Tsang, K S Law, David Lee, Peter Lee, Jeff Wong (& son).

The next committee meeting is on Sunday 5 th September 2004, 11.30pm At: Amy's Restaurant, Gaywood, Kings Lynn. All members welcome .

The committee decided to hold the next Mid-Autumn Lantern festival On Sunday 26 th , September 2004. At: Lynnsport, 11.30am to 2.30pm . Members are free entrance, non-members £5 each. Everybody is welcome.
Like our Chinese New Year format, can each member PLEASE bring some foods along to share (most appreciated).
There will be a lantern display competition- to enter, please bring your lantern one week before 26/09/04 , to Kwai's Takeaway, Reffley Lane , Kings Lynn ( 4-9pm ). Or bring it on the day to Lynnsport (please do bring it early)
PLEASE can you also, bring a prize(s) for the raffle.

On Saturday 13 th November (West Norfolk Learning Partnership) is organising a ‘FOOD FORTNIGHT' project, where people can display their dishes from their country of origin, for members of the public to sample. It is at The Park High School, 11am to 2pm. anyone interested please contact Kwai Li (0797 621 9508) as soon as possible.
